The Qur'an affirms that success is achieved when the above mentioned attributes are part of one's personality. If these actions are performed on a random or inconsistent basis, it will not result in success. These attributes must become part and parcel of one's existence.

Abdullah (radhiallahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “Truthfulness leads to Al-Birr (righteousness) and Al-Birr leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a Siddiq (truthful person). Falsehood leads to Al-Fujur (i.e., wickedness, evil-doing), and Al-Fujur leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar.” (Bukhari 8/116 and Muslim 4/6307-6310)

When an action is repeated with conscious regularity and passionate attitude, after sometime, this action becomes a habit. A habit will be an action that is repeated by a person without conscious mind, thereby ensuring regularity, consistency and this results in removing stress from a person.

An action that becomes a habit has to go through the following steps:

1

Unconscious competence

A person reaches expertise level. [Mastering the Skill]

2

Conscious competence

A person starts to learning what he doesn't know. [Learning the Skill]

3

Conscious incompetence

A person comes to know what he/she doesn't know. [knowing about Ignorance]

4

Unconscious incompetence

A person doesn't know what he doesn't know. [Ignorance about Ignorance]
